Meet this year’s guest of honour, a giant snow tiger.
It may surprise you to know that the one item that has raised the most money for the charities we support has traditionally been the giant soft toy.
It says a lot about the spirit of the evening when our guests give for the sake of it and often send the toy back to be re-auctioned for an even higher amount.
Some giant cuddlies have made perfect presents for small children and others now live in the charity homes that we support.
Get ready to bid for our snow tiger in the live auction on Saturday night. #LIVE15
Over the years, Olbram Zoubek has donated some beautiful sculptures to contribute to the success of the Charity Gala.
This year he has given us a piece called “The Woman with the Golden Hair”.
This special piece will be on display in the silent auction on Saturday night. #SILENT15
It is always a special treat to visit the illustrious Czech sculptor Olbram Zoubek at his studio. We walk through the forecourt amongst a crowd of statues. It seems they are waiting to greet us.
Zoubek has donated some beautiful statues over the years to contribute to the success of the Charity Gala. This year he has given us a serene statue of his muse Mrs Maticka, a painter from Litomysl. For us, he is our muse.
There is a Zoubek exhibition at Prague castle that starts tomorrow and runs until 2nd March 2014.
Fancy visiting the only spa in the world to be located in a former chapel?
Built on the site of a former 14th century monastery, the Mandarin Oriental Prague enjoys a wonderful location in the cobbled streets of Mala Strana.
The hotel has donated certificates for morning yoga sessions for two people and a 90 minute advanced anti-aging UTOPIA facial for one in their spa.
It has also given vouchers for two people to sample the hotel’s signature cocktail at Barego Bar.
This is always a great prize to bid on. It’s a real treat to pop to the Mandarin Oriental with your loved one for a relaxing day or if you prefer you can choose to use your vouchers over a few dates.
Thank you to the James Joyce and Digicel for a spontaneous donation of four iPad Air 32GB tablets.
The spirit in which our sponsors donate prizes has always been amazing and we really appreciate this gesture.
Look out for the iPads in the silent auction and live packages on the night. They’ll make great gifts under the Christmas tree.
It may surprise you to know the one item that has raised the most money for the charities we support has traditionally been the giant soft toy always kindly donated by Sparkys.
