If the very air of Prague itself hasn’t already made you feel like the quintessential queen in a golden fairytale, if it’s not enough to go to work and run your errands in the shadow of the legendary Prague castle, to walk the cobblestone streets trod by alchemists and astronomers, saints and criminals and kings, if you long to know how you can really feel like a princess, picture this: On a crystal clear winter’s night, your chauffeur pulls up at Karlovy Lazne, one of the most crowded spots in the city. You feel the shift in the air as all traffic halts in both directions and everyone – drivers, passengers and pedestrians stop in their tracks to watch as you and all your glamorous friends emerge like stars in Hollywood. Your escort- and you haven’t seen him looking this good since 1995 (or since last year’s Charity Gala) – offers you his arm and you float across the street as if in a dream. Cameras flash and people whisper, wondering who all those gorgeous people in costumed finery could possibly be and where they could possibly be going and how they possibly got invited. They must be royalty. Yes, you think to yourself, yes, for tonight I am. And the night has just begun . . .

It’s another sell out!

Tickets to the 2015 Charity Gala have now sold out and with less than four weeks to go we need to call on our lovely supporters to donate prizes for our auction.

Together we make a difference

The Charity Gala is all about helping to drive positive change and with the help of our community we really can make a difference. Last year we raised over 2.6 million Czech Krowns at our gala and this year we’d like to raise even more.

Dear Charity Gala Supporters

Over the past month I have had the pleasure of visiting all of our charities to see how the money we raised last year has been invested.

Every year at this time it feels intimidating as we set out to pull off another successful gala, a little awkward as we ask the same people to give prizes and rather stressful as we wonder whether people will actually attend. However, as I find myself standing face to face with the professors, surgeons and care workers and as I hear first hand where our money has been spent I know that all our efforts are worthwhile. It humbles me to be thanked by our charities when they are the ones doing the life changing work, and it strikes me to the core to see what we have achieved together over the past 17 years.

All of the funds raised at the gala go directly to the departments, schools and care facilities and so we are able to track item by item, activity by activity exactly how your money is spent.

Many of our charities have ongoing projects that need our continued support and it is for this reason that we continue to do what we do. We are very much looking forward to another successful event as we set out to travel “Around the World in 80 days”.

Dear friends

Thank you for contributing to the success of the 2014 Charity Gala. We really appreciate your support and with your help we raised over 2.4 million Czech Krowns for local charities.

The money donated at this year’s gala will be invested in:

  • Infusion pumps for Motol’s Paediatric Haematology Department
  • Garden renovations at the Diakonie School for handicapped children
  • Specialist equipment for the ENT department at Motol in memory of Doctor Zdenek Kabelka
  • Specialist equipment for children with complex needs at PInk Crocodile
  • Creative and sports programs for children at Beroun’s Children’s Home.
