Fragile by Alexey Terenin

Alexey Terenin was born in Moscow and raised in Prague. He graduated from the Moscow Architectural Academy in 1992.

Upon graduating, he was invited to design a stage set for Moscow’s State Bolshoi Theater’s production of Igor Stravinsky’s ballet, Capriccio. Terenin began his career as a painter with shows at the prestigious Moscow galleries, Art Moderne and M’Ars.

Terenin’s world is a rich mixture of both the old East and modern West. He sees his work as reflecting the conditions of modern man, yet his work is full of Biblical references as well as Russian literature.

Terenin has donated a piece called “Fragile” to the Charity Gala. It measures 136cm by 116cm.

Terenin has shown his work in galleries all over the world including Moscow, Prague, London, Dublin, Rome, Paris, Tokyo and now Norfolk. His work can be found, in both private, and corporate collections in Australia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Holland, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Ireland, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Russia, Spain, U.K. and in the U.S.A.

Fragile will be on display at the Charity Gala on Saturday night.

Gordana Glass

COSMOS – The Halada Icon Ring

Halada has donated a beautiful ring for this year’s live auction – COSMOS.

“An important element of the new ring is individual configuration,” explains Eric Halada and adds: “The goal was to design a jewellery piece that will symbolize life. Its energy and precious moments.”

The COSMOS ring will be on display on Saturday night.

Anke’s Ceramic Bowl

Growing up in Holland Anke was always interested in art, especially sculpture and painting. She graduated in Art History but her interest in making anything herself stayed hidden for many years.

In 2004, Anke was introduced to Frantisek Svancar, a ceramic artist in Prague, and ever since she has been hooked on working with clay and fascinated by the technical aspects of firing and glazing the raw material.

She is currently experimenting with the addition of glass (mosaic tiles and crushed material) to the glazes. The result of these experiments varies from real failures to unexpectedly beautiful effects.

The series that Anke has been working on recently is inspired by the sea and all that lives in it. Anke has kindly donated a piece from this series to the silent auction.
