True luxury from HALADA

HALADA has generously donated a beautiful pearl and diamond ring to this year’s Charity Gala auction – HALADA Reef.

halada_reef_ring

HALADA carefully and professionally selects only the best cultured pearls, which they then highlight with refined design. Each design embodies both a fascination with the ocean and the power of human creativity.

Eric Halada says “Just as ocean currents shape objects into varied forms, so the hands of experienced goldsmiths created the HALADA Reef Collection, with delicate pearls set into irregularly shaped matt and glossy pink gold, further enhanced by freshwater pearls in pastel pink tones.”

 Product details:

  • Freshwater Pearl 8,5-9mm
  • 5 Brilliants 0,025 Carat TW-si
  • 18 Carat Rosegold

The HALADA Reef ring will be on display in the live auction at the 2016 Charity Gala. #LIVE16

Auction prizes needed…

Dear friends

The preparations are well underway for the 2016 Charity Gala and to ensure its success we need your help.

Last year we raised nearly three million Czech Krowns for our charities and sponsored many life changing projects:

  • Department of Pediatric Hematology Oncology, Motol: Funds raised were used to purchase ward equipment to treat children with cancer.
  • Diakonie Center: Diakonie supports families of children with mental, physical and multiple disabilities. Money directed to this charity was used to renovate the garden.
  • Beroun Children’s Home: Beroun is a residential home for complex needs children. Our contributions funded horse-riding lessons, swimming lessons, pet therapy, music therapy and trips to the salt caves.
  • Skiing for the disabled: Donations were used to train a mono-ski instructor.
  • Pink Crocodile School: Pink Crocodile helps children with complex needs. Last year we sponsored new equipment.
  • Dedina Center: Dedina offers a support system for adults with impaired vision. Our money was used to support a program aimed at fostering greater independence.
  • Broken Silence Foundation: Broken Silence supports deaf children after their cochlear implant surgery. Money raised was invested in surgical equipment for Motol ORL.

Many of these initiatives are ongoing and need our continued support.

We are extremely grateful to our sponsors for their kind donations. Thank you to those who have already donated prizes for the 2016 auction. If you haven’t yet donated and are able to give an auction prize or something for our goody bags please get in touch. We’d love to hear from you.

We look forward to working with you to make 2016 our best year yet. For more information about our work please speak with any committee member or visit www.charitygala.cz.

Warm wishes

Charity Gala 2016 – A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Dear friends

We hope you’re all enjoying your summer. We know that many of you start thinking about your table themes and costumes while you’re travelling so here’s a heads-up on this year’s event.

The theme for the Charity Gala 2016 is A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Here’s a photo of the winning pitch!

Winning Pitch

Twist and turn the theme any way you please.

Shakespeare famously sourced his work from myths, legends and masques. Feel free to bring in ideas from any of his plays and reimagine his characters any way you want, just as a theatre director would do.

You can also look to the Broadway shows that he inspired for ideas. The Lion King, Wicked and West Side Story are all based on Shakespeare’s works. As is Black Adder!

Comedy, tragedy, gender politics, heroes and villains. We expect it all.

Please mark your calendars for Saturday 3 December and join us for an evening of Shakespearean inspired shenanigans.

We look forward to seeing you all again soon.

With best wishes

The Charity Gala Committee

Thank you! We raised over 2.6 Million CZK!!

Dear Charity Gala supporters

Thank you for joining us on an incredible journey to travel together “Around The World in 80 days”.

We are extremely thankful for your support with prize donations, ticket purchases, auction bids and pledges. Your contributions really do make a difference.

We are delighted to tell you that we again raised over 2.6 million Czech Krowns for our charities on Saturday night.

In 2016, together we will support:

  • University Hospital Motol: The Department of Pediatric Hematology Oncology treats children with cancer. We raised enough money for new chair-beds for the wards and the purchase of infusion pumps.
  • University Hospital Motol: The department of ENT/ORL treats congenital disorders of the Head and Neck, and Hearing. We will purchase specialist state of the art surgical equipment to enable finer surgical techniques.
  • Diakonie Center: Diakonie supports families of children with mental, physical or multiple disabilities. This year we will pay for renovation of the garden.
  • Beroun Children’s Home: Beroun is a residential home for complex need’s children. Our contributions fund horse-riding lessons, swimming lessons, pet therapy, music therapy and trips to the salt caves.
  • Skiing for the Disabled: This year we will buy a mono-ski.
  • Pink Crocodile School Prague: Pink Crocodile helps complex needs children. We will support activities including physiotherapy plus drama and dance in 2016.
  • Dedina Center: Dedina offers a support system for adults with impaired vision and we will support their rehabilitation program.
  • Broken Silence Foundation: Broken Silence supports deaf children after their cochlear implant surgery. We will support the annual summer auditory verbal camp.

You put the FUN in FUNdraising!

Meet this year’s guest of honour, a giant snow tiger.

Tiger square

It may surprise you to know that the one item that has raised the most money for the charities we support has traditionally been the giant soft toy.

It says a lot about the spirit of the evening when our guests give for the sake of it and often send the toy back to be re-auctioned for an even higher amount.

Some giant cuddlies have made perfect presents for small children and others now live in the charity homes that we support.

Get ready to bid for our snow tiger in the live auction on Saturday night. #LIVE15
